Steve has been writing and singing his own songs for 30 years. And still sees merit in entering competitions....recently organising the 'song for carrick' competition himself...a council and european funded project....Recently he entered a song in the ISC International songwriting competition, see; www.songwritingcompetition.com and is always trying to find better ways of expressing himself in a musical context.
Steve has also composed instrumental music in a variety of different styles, jazz, rock, metal, acoustic, ambient.
Recently steve wrote a song called 'Journey'....It is a ballad with acoustic guitar, voice, bass, drums, tenor sax, keyboards. The song is a personal one but has different levels of interpretation....in a nutshell, it's about my journey through life and how I really know if I am travelling the right path....something I'm sure everyone questions from time to time...have I missed a turning, or should I be planning for this or that?....myself, I had a problem with listening to my heart of hearts and believing in myself enough to take notice...prefering to listen to what others said I should do....there is good and bad advice, and spotting the difference is often not easy..For me, meeting a wise old man on my journey was very helpful...his name is Wisdom....you can buy this cd and others from; www.nelsonvillage.com/cdsales.
